Author: Michael Cordonnier/Soybean & Corn Advisor, Inc.

The weather in Brazil continues to improve with more widespread showers with better coverage. The weekend saw heavy rainfall, especially in the southeastern states of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais. Rain this week is expected to favor southern and central Brazil with improved rain in northern Brazil during the 6-10 day period.

Below is the precipitation forecast for October-November-December in Brazil from the Brazilian National Weather Service (Inmet) that was published in Conab's October Crop Report on October 15th. For most of the soybean and corn producing areas, it looks like there may only be pockets of below normal rainfall. The dryest forecast is for northeastern Brazil where there is limited commercial crop production.
