2024/25 Argentina Corn 24.3% Planted vs. 20% Last Year

Corn in Argentina was 24.3% planted as of late last week compared to 20% last year. This represented an advance of 5.8% for the week. The most advanced planting is in central Entre Rios where 96% of the corn has been planted. In the core production area, the corn is 55-75% planted. Dryness has slowed planting in southern Argentina where some areas are only 2-5% planted.
The most advanced corn is in central Santa Fe where the corn is in the V5 stage and rated generally in good condition.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange is estimating the 2024/25 Argentina corn production at 47.0 million tons with an acreage of 6.3 million hectares (15.5 million acres). The USDA is estimating the crop at 51.0 million tons with an acreage of 6.4 million hectares (15.8 million acres).
