2024/25 Paraguay Soybean Planting Complete
Author: Michael Cordonnier/Soybean & Corn Advisor, Inc.
Farmers din Paraguay had finished planting their 2024/25 soybeans by the end of October according to the Director of Dasagro, Ester Storch. The start of planting was delayed in early September due to dry conditions, but widespread rain on September 18th allowed farmers to start planting.
The soybeans are 70% in vegetative development, 22% flowering, 8% setting pods and generally rated in good condition. Recent rainfall has been light and scattered and some dryness has developed in southern Paraguay. The early planting of the soybeans should allow enough time for farmers in Paraguay to plant a second crop of corn or a second crop of soybeans within the ideal planting window next January and February.
The current price of soybeans in Paraguay is $9.85 per bushel, which is 15% lower than the $11.07 per bushel last year at this time.
