2024/25 Argentina Corn Estimate Unchanged at 46.0 Million Tons

Rainfall in Argentina last week favored the central production area leading to improved soil moisture in those areas. The forecast for this week is calling for more chances of rain in central and southern areas. If the rains verify, dryness and moisture stress on corn and soybeans will be reduced significantly.
Corn in Argentina was 5.4% harvested as of late last week, compared to 1.7% average. This represents an advance of 3% for the week. The early yields thus far are averaging 7,790 kg/ha (123.8 bu/ac), which is below what had been expected at the start of the growing season.
Corn in Argentina was rated 29% poor/very poor, 50% fair, and 21% good/excellent as of late last week. The good/excellent percentage is up 3% from the prior week. Soil moisture for corn is rated 34% short/very short, 65% favorable/optimum, and 1% surplus. The favorable/optimum percentage is up1% from the prior week.
