Rainfall last week was heavier across northern Brazil with light and scattered showers across southern areas. This week should start with rain mainly in the northern areas with a pickup of shower activity across southern areas by the end of the week with light amounts in most areas.

Brazil soybeans were 79.5% harvested as of late last week compared to 85.8% last year and 80.4% average according to Patria AgroNegocios. The last major soybean producing state to harvest is Rio Grande do Sul where the crop was 24% harvested as of late last week. Harvesting continues to be ongoing in northeastern Brazil where the crop is 60% to 70% harvested.

Soybean yields in Mato Grosso ended up quite good, while in Rio Grande do Sul, recent rains helped the late developing crop. Yields in Rio Grande do Sul will be below initial expectations, but not as bad as feared several months ago. Therefore, the 2025/26 Brazilian soybean estimate was increased 1.0 million tons this week to 179.0 million.
