Deral First Estimate of 2026/27 Crop Production in Parana

Parana soybean production - In their first estimate of the 2026/27 growing season in Brazil released last Thursday, the Department of Rural Economics (Deral) for the state of Parana projected a 2026/27 soybean crop of 22.6 million tons, verses 21.8 million in 2025/26. The previous record was 22.3 million tons produced in2022/23.
Soybean acreage in the state is expected to increase 0.4% to 5.76 million hectares (14.2 million acres). Soybean yields are predicted to increase 4% to 3,930 kg/ha (58.5 bu/ac) due to favorable rainfall across southern Brazil from El Nino.
Deral is warning that El Nino can result in erratic weather during the growing season. Persistent rain during September and October can make it difficult to plant and reduce the planting window. Soybeans are flowering and filling pods between November and January and are subject to yield losses from excess rainfall or water deficits. Above average rainfall during February and March could impact harvest activity.
Parana corn production - Deral is projecting a slight increase in first crop corn acreage to 373,000 hectares (920,000 acres) with a production of 4.1 million tons. Deral has not estimated the 2026/27 safrinha corn crop, but they did increase the 2025/26 safrinha corn production to 17.3 million tons.
